How is BitTorrent DNA different from open-source BitTorrent protocol?

- Hybrid Download - Open-source BitTorrent protocol only downloads content from other BitTorrent peers on a best effort basis. If other peers are not available, then downloads can be slow. DNA on the other hand guarantees a minimum download speed. It does this by blending downloads both from the DNA peer network and your existing CDN or origin server. The availability of the origin server ensures a customer-defined Quality-of-Service (QoS) level is always met, while the peer network reduces your distribution costs.
- Integration - Sharing a file using Open-source BitTorrent protocol requires educating end-users on how to install and use a BitTorrent Client (provide link to http://www.bittorrent.com/download) for downloading files. DNA on the other hand is entirely seamless to users and provides numerous integration methods (provide link to integration guide). Files can be distributed with a self bootstraping DNA Downloader (provide link to http://staging.bittorrent.com/drupal/dna/guide/1-dna-downloader), through a Web Browser's existing download manager, within an flash video player, or even embedded in an application.
- Bandwidth Management - Open-source BitTorrent can disrupt other web activity when a download is in progress. DNA on the other hand has advanced Bandwidth Management technology that detects the presence of other applications, computers, and ensures that it automatically moderates its use of the network to ensure that web browsing, voice over IP (VoIP), Internet gaming, and other applications are not disrupted.
- Streaming - Open-source BitTorrent protocol downloads peices of files in a random sequence. DNA on the other hand is able to stream media content by downloading pieces of files near the playhead with a higher priority ensuring uninterrupted delivery.
- Analytics - Open-source BitTorrent protocol provides limited or no statistics. DNA on the other hand provides a rich web-based Analytics engine that provides real-time + historical measurement of traffic reports and enables customized report building.
- Management - When a filed is shared using Open-source BitTorrent protocol it is generally impossible to stop its distribution. With DNA on the other hand publishers maintain the control to turn ON/OFF files that get delivered.
