BitTorrent to Keynote First Annual P2P Media Summit at CES 2008

Ashwin Navin, President and Co-Founder, will also Participate on IPTV and Digital Hollywood Panels at CES

San Francisco, CA – December 20, 2007 – BitTorrent, the global standard for delivering high-quality files over the Internet, is pleased to announce that its president and co-founder, Ashwin Navin, will be keynoting the Distributed Computing Industry Association’s (DCIA) P2P Media Summit, a special partner program of the 2008 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES). Navin will open Sunday morning’s sessions focused on developing peer-to-peer (P2P) technologies for commercial distribution with a keynote about the future of digital entertainment and the opportunities for P2P content delivery. The P2P Media Summit will be held on Sunday, January 6, 2008 in conjunction with CES. The P2P Media Summit is the DCIA’s seminal industry event, featuring keynotes from top P2P and social networking software companies; tracks on policy, technology and marketing; panel discussions covering content distribution and solutions development; valuable workshops; and more. The focus of this Conference within CES is the commercial development of the P2P channel for content distribution.

Navin will also participate on an IPTV-focused panel entitled “IPTV: The Television of Tomorrow?” on Tuesday as part of the CES Knowledge Tracks conference. He will join panelists from Microsoft TV, AT&T, research firm IDC, the Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing, and The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences to discuss the reality of Internet TV.

Lastly, Navin will present on a third panel at the Digital Hollywood conference at CES. He will be a panelist on Wednesday afternoon for a discussion called “Next Generation P2P Music and Film” along with executives from Orrick, The Copyright Alliance, ContentGuard, Digital Watermarking Alliance, Itiva, Pando Networks and the DCIA.

In 2007, BitTorrent, Inc. launched three distinct business offerings including BitTorrent DNA, a secure, peer-accelerated content delivery service; a BitTorrent Software Development Kit (SDK) for CE manufacturers who are creating new devices for the home, office or on the move; and the BitTorrent Entertainment Network, home to the most comprehensive licensed catalog of thousands of movies, TV shows, music and games. Given BitTorrent’s position as a leader in content delivery, Navin has unique insights to share with conference attendees.
