Staff Picks: War Feels Like War

The 2004 documentary embeds us with the embedded. This is the Iraq War we didn’t see.

In 2003, filmmaker Esteban Uyarra spent three months in Iraq with a borrowed handheld. As approved media coverage of Iraq played out on television screens across America, Uyarra captured what was happening on the ground. War Feels Like War is the story of a group of independent journalists who refused to be embedded; who refused to be silenced. Theirs is the uncensored Iraq: the brutality of “Shock and Awe”, without protection, and without agenda.

The documentary originally aired in 2004 as part of PBS’ POV series. Pay what you want to download or stream the full film on BitTorrent Bundle.
